BreastScreen Auckland Ltd operates on behalf of the Ministry of Health, to offer free breast screening services to women in the Auckland Central region, aged between 45 and 69.
We have a full time position for an enthusiastic and committed professional who enjoys working with a wide range of patients and who will provide only the highest level of care.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in providing support, guidance and building good relationships with patients. Some surgical, oncology and/or breast care experience would be advantageous, however full training and support will be provided.

Medical Radiation Technician

The St Marks Group, based in Remuera, is seeking an experienced Mammographer to be part of our dedicated
multi-disciplinary team and to help make a difference in woman’s lives.
Our radiographers provide both screening and diagnostic mammography.
To be successful in this position you must have:

  • Experience in mammography
  • Excellent communication/organizational skills
  • A welcoming and positive attitude to support clients as well as staff members
  • Be able to function efficiently and effectively as part of our team
  • Be registered with the NZMRT Board
  • Hold a full current Annual Practicing Certificate

Lead Medical Radiation Technician

Breastscreen Auckland Ltd has a dedicated team, positive culture and excellent working conditions. We have a fully digital clinic and are looking for an experienced Mammographer to provide professional leadership and management. You will be working within the Breastscreen Aotearoa screening programme which has an excellent reputation for high standards and professional care.

The key requirements of this role include:

  • Proven leadership ability and excellent communication skills.
  • Hold a full New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate, registered with the NZMRT Board.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of mammography and maintain a strong clinical focus.
  • Be able to work as part of a team, and promote a positive work culture through both teamwork and leadership style.
  • Driving targets and working with the team to achieve these.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance, ensuring a high standard of mammographic film quality from all members of the team.
  • Team leadership and associated human resources requirements, including on-going training and performance.
  • Rostering of the Radiographic Staff.
  • Facilitating the monthly MRT peer review meeting.
  • Assisting the Clinical Director and Programme Manager with NSU Monitoring and Audit responses.
  • Performing screening mammograms and assessment clinic work.

Ultrasonographer

St Marks Breast Centre in Remuera, Auckland seeks an ultrasonographer to join our well established practice and multi-disciplinary team of breast specialists.  You will preferably have experience in breast ultrasound; these will be performed under the supervision of our Radiologists.  Alternatively an exciting opportunity exists to train in this expert field. You should also possess outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills.

Auckland, with a population of 1.25 million, is often termed the “City of Sails” because of the great number of yachts that sail in the harbours and adjoining Hauraki Gulf.  It lies between two harbours, the Manukau and the Waitemata and is surrounded by 11 dormant volcanoes and numerous picturesque islands.  The Waitakere Ranges to the west of the city forms a gateway to magnificent west coast surf beaches and an abundance of bush walks.

Breast Physician

St Marks Breast Centre in Remuera, Auckland seeks a qualified Breast Physician to join our well established practice and multi-disciplinary specialist breast team consisting of surgeons, radiologists, oncologist, breast physicians, radiographers, breast care nurses and physiotherapist.   You will have experience in managing a range of medical breast problems and in performing clinical breast examination, breast ultrasound, ultrasound-guided biopsies, D-wire localisations and sentinel node injections.

Alternatively an exciting opportunity exists to train in this expert field. Applicants should have the NZCGP Primex Exam and be registered or eligible to register with the New Zealand Medical Council. The pathway to train is via a 3 year FTE training scheme within our approved multi-disciplinary breast clinic.

Consultant Breast Radiologist

St Marks Group in Auckland, New Zealand seeks a Consultant Breast Radiologist to join our well established practice and multi-disciplinary team of breast specialists.  You will have experience in all forms of breast imaging, including digital and analogue mammography, breast ultrasounds, as well as ultrasound-guided biopsies, stereotactic biopsies, sentinel node injections and pre-operative localisations.  You should also possess outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills.  Full or part-time option considered with assistance offered to obtain further sessions in General Radiology.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the National Breast Screening Programme; Breastscreen Aotearoa, working alongside the Clinical Director and Programme Manager to deliver a high quality customer-centred service in the central Auckland region.  In addition to this you will provide services in our private breast specialist centre, founded in 1993 and being New Zealand’s first multi-disciplinary medical centre dedicated to breast health.

Breast Surgeon

St Marks Group Limited Breast Centre in Remuera, Auckland seeks a Consultant Breast Surgeon to join our well established private breast practice and specialist multidisciplinary team. You will be a specialist in breast surgery, having had experience in breast cancer and oncoplastic reconstruction surgery (training will be available in oncoplastic surgery). You will possess outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills and have the ability to operate as a team member of a multi-disciplinary team of breast surgeons, radiologists, breast physicians, oncologist, breast care nurses and radiographers to deliver an outstanding level of care to St Marks patients.

St Marks Breast Centre leads the way in the very best of digital technology and breast screening advancements, including new Volpara software to determine breast density requiring ultrasound and Biozorb a breakthrough device in marking the tumour cavity within the breast to target radiotherapy. St Marks has also recently united with Trinity MRI in a joint venture to provide breast MRI as a further service to patients.
